Sydney is from Barrie. She has battled for her life ever since day one – that’s why her friends, family and everyone who cares for her at SickKids call her “Little Braveheart.”

Sydney was diagnosed with two serious heart defects at birth. She underwent her first open-heart surgery at 4 months old. She is just one of the 1,500 children from Barrie that need SickKids every year. She is one of us.

Savanna is from Barrie. She’s been coming to SickKids for 14 years, to battle her cystic fibrosis. She’s 14 years old.

When she grows up, Savanna would like to be a nurse or a fashion designer. She is just one of the 1,500 children from Barrie that need SickKids every year. She is one of us.

Brooke is from Barrie. Just over one year ago, her family got the most devastating news of their lives – Brooke had leukemia.

Brooke is now half way through her 2-year treatment protocol at SickKids, which involves several rounds of chemotherapy. She is just one of the 1,500 children from Barrie that need SickKids every year. She is one of us.

Jordan is from Barrie. She is only 3 years old, but she has already spent hundreds of days at SickKids, battling her leukemia.

Just a few months ago, Jordan underwent a bone marrow transplant in the hopes of beating her cancer once and for all. Her big brother Jacob was her donor. She is just one of the 1,500 children from Barrie that need SickKids every year. She is one of us.
